The Henry Ford and its Invention Convention Worldwide Partners Host First Ever Globals Competition

Online Awards Ceremony Scheduled for August

(Dearborn, Mich. – March 23, 2021) ─ The Henry Ford is proud to announce today the first Invention Convention Worldwide Globals competition. Comprised of selected finalists from participating Nationals programs in the United States, Mexico, Singapore and China, the judging will take place July 27-29, with an online awards ceremony slated for August 19, 2021. The event will feature up to 120 inventions from grades K-12 from each participating Nationals event.

“As the home of Invention Convention Worldwide since 2018, The Henry Ford is beyond thrilled to host its first competition on the world stage,” said Patricia Mooradian, president & CEO, The Henry Ford. “It’s always been the vision of Invention Convention to provide students from around the world access to innovation, invention and entrepreneurial learning. We hope they can also gain inspiration from other students that might not speak the same language or have the same background but are working towards the same goal of building a better future.”

Invention Convention Worldwide is a global K-12 invention education curricular program mapped to national and state educational standards that teaches students problem-identification, problem-solving, entrepreneurship and creativity skills and builds confidence in invention, innovation and entrepreneurship for life. More than 120,000 K-12 inventors from across the globe participate in the programs each year.

Invention Convention Globals participation is by invitation only. To participate, students are required to submit a video presentation of their invention, a prototype, an inventor’s logbook showing the journey of their invention process and a poster board highlighting key points of the invention process.

The mission of Invention Convention Worldwide is to bring Invention Education to students everywhere. Organizations interested in bringing the year-long program to their region can get more information at inventionconvention.org/contact.
