Tinker. Hack. Invent.
It’s a weekly celebration of American ingenuity. We call it Tinker. Hack. Invent. and it takes place every Saturday. Join our Tinker Task Force and have a blast trying your hand at all sorts of things. Americans are famous for their ingenuity and resourcefulness, for their eagerness to improve and explore new ideas. This is your chance to learn firsthand how that spirit is alive and well today. Come explore your own ingenuity. Try your hand at something new, something different. The activities change month to month. Hands-on. How-to, DIY, science and more! The only limitation is your imagination. And it’s free with museum admission or membership.
Each month we’ll offer a new project! Soldering, electrical circuits, and crazy concoctions are just a few of our themes. So you can return month after month for more tinkering fun!
*Some supply fees may apply.
*Activities are subject to change.
Play at Tinkering: Games Galore
Join us as we tinker with the evolution of gaming, through hands-on games. Play some large-scale versions of old favorites, design your own board game and view clips from an episode of “Innovation Nation” (our Emmy award-winning TV show) about current and past innovations in games and gaming. Activities are free and open to all ages.
Celebrate the Magical History Tour: A Beatles Memorabilia Exhibition inside Henry Ford Museum, and build your own bopping beetle. Use your tinkering skills to create and decorate your jitterbug, and then” twist and shout” as it skitters across the floor. Supplies cost $5; cash only, please. Recommended for 5 years and older.
Parking is $6 per vehicle for non-members, free for members.
