- 1932 Ford Roadster - The classic proportions of the 1932 Ford roadster make it a hot rod favorite. Rodders modified these inexpensive vehicles with more modern and powerful engines and parts. Dick Smith of Arizona purchased this hot rod in 1949. From 1954 to 1963, Smith dropped in a 1951 Chrysler V-8 engine and other non-Ford parts making this home-built hot rod his own.

- Continental Airlines Bar Soap, 1967-1991 - Diane Beers joined TWA as a flight attendant in 1965 but left to marry Richard Hill a year later -- a time when many airlines employed only single women in that job. Beers Hill continued her interest in the aviation industry and assembled an impressive collection of memorabilia, including toiletries and amenity kits branded with various airlines' names and logos.

In 1971, the federal government formed Amtrak to operate passenger trains. The Amtrak network ranged from relatively short regional routes to long-distance trains that traveled more than 2,000 miles.
