- Salon Chair, circa 1960 - Velma Truant (1928-2021) began her hairstyling career at the Detroit Hudson's department store salon in the late 1940s. When she left Hudson's in 1963 to care for her young daughter, Truant acquired this chair and a matching hair dryer and set up a salon in the basement of her Allen Park, Michigan, home. She served clients there until the early 1980s.

- Magnasync Moviola, Used by Lillian F. Schwartz, circa 1968 - Lillian Schwartz is a pioneer of computer-generated art. From 1969-2002, she was a "resident visitor" at Bell Laboratories, producing groundbreaking films, videos, and multimedia works. The Schwartz Collection spans Lillian's childhood into her late career, documenting an expansive mindset, mastery over traditional and experimental mediums alike--and above all--an ability to create inspirational connections between science, art, and technology.

- 1949 Mercury Customized Convertible - Long, low, and well rounded, stock 1949-51 Mercurys became <em>the</em> favorite cars of 1950s customizers. When lowered even more and smoothed out by filling body seams with lead, these Mercs were called "lead sleds." This car shows many early customizing techniques. It was updated in the 1960s with sparkly Metalflake paint and blue "scallops."
