- Crosley Portable Radio, Model E10-307M, 1949-1950 - Radios for the home were often showpieces--examples of the most current and fashionable design--but the focus of this radio is portability and durability. Battery operated, it is made of durable plastic, and a handle assists in carrying the set. The overall design is reminiscent of a lunchbox. In addition to radios, Crosley manufactured automobiles and household appliances.

- Crosley Reado Radio Printer, 1938-1940 - From 1938-1940, the <em>Detroit News</em> experimented with a domestic radio-facsimile subscription service. Customers hooked their radio up to this device, which then electrostatically formed images and text on paper. The idea was revolutionary--printed news delivered straight into the home. The process was slow, however, and signal reception unreliable outside of a several mile range surrounding the transmission tower.
