Photograph Album of Cartes-de-Visite, 1859-1870
- Ada Dewey Autograph Album, 1874-1875 - In 1874, Ada Dewey of Kalamazoo, Michigan, wrote to famous individuals of the day asking for their autographs. She contacted writers, artists, politicians, military officers, and advocates for social movements such as abolition, temperance, and women's and civil rights, among others. Dewey compiled their replies, some of which include carte de visite photographs, in the pages of this album.

- Statuette, "The Fugitive's Story" by John Rogers, 1869 - The John Rogers sculpture, "The Fugitive's Story," depicts well-known abolitionists -- John Greenleaf Whittier, William Lloyd Garrison, and Henry Ward Beecher -- listening to the pleas of a slave mother. Though fictionalized and composed well after the end of the Civil War (in 1869), the work was enthusiastically received by those who had admired these men and had worked to free the slaves.

Statuette, "The Fugitive's Story" by John Rogers, 1869
The John Rogers sculpture, "The Fugitive's Story," depicts well-known abolitionists -- John Greenleaf Whittier, William Lloyd Garrison, and Henry Ward Beecher -- listening to the pleas of a slave mother. Though fictionalized and composed well after the end of the Civil War (in 1869), the work was enthusiastically received by those who had admired these men and had worked to free the slaves.
- Bookplate of James B. Pond, circa 1873 - Bookplates show ownership, but they can also tell us more. Often pasted on the inside of a book's front cover or endpaper, these printed labels contain the owner's name and sometimes the words "ex-libris" (Latin for "from the library of"). Coats of arms, crests, other decorative images, poems, mottoes, and even font type provide insight into the beliefs, passions, and interests of the book's owner.
