- Preparing Ford GT40 Race Cars for the 24 Heures du Mans (24 Hours of Le Mans) Race, June 1966 - Ford Motor Company sent a virtual army to France in 1966 in its effort to win the 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race. More than a hundred technicians, mechanics, engineers, and administrators accompanied the eight GT40s fielded by the Shelby American, Holman-Moody and Alan Mann racing teams. The massive effort paid off when Ford finished 1-2-3 at the race.

Preparing Ford GT40 Race Cars for the 24 Heures du Mans (24 Hours of Le Mans) Race, June 1966
Ford Motor Company sent a virtual army to France in 1966 in its effort to win the 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race. More than a hundred technicians, mechanics, engineers, and administrators accompanied the eight GT40s fielded by the Shelby American, Holman-Moody and Alan Mann racing teams. The massive effort paid off when Ford finished 1-2-3 at the race.
- Ford GT40 Mark II Driven by Ronnie Bucknum and Dick Hutcherson at the 24 Heures du Mans (24 Hours of Le Mans) Race, June 1966 - Americans Dick Hutcherson and Ronnie Bucknum co-drove the #5 Ford GT40 Mark II at the 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans. They took third place in the endurance race, having made 348 laps around the 8.34-mile circuit. Hutcherson and Bucknum rounded out Ford's dramatic 1-2-3 podium sweep. It was Bucknum's only Le Mans appearance, but Hutcherson returned in 1976.

Americans Dick Hutcherson and Ronnie Bucknum co-drove the #5 Ford GT40 Mark II at the 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans. They took third place in the endurance race, having made 348 laps around the 8.34-mile circuit. Hutcherson and Bucknum rounded out Ford's dramatic 1-2-3 podium sweep.
