- Booklet from "Jack Be Nimble" Wall Decoration Set - The Dolly Toy Company, established in 1923, is best known for making inexpensive toys and seasonal novelties from laminated boxboard. After World War II, the company patented an idea for wall pin-ups for children's rooms. It was a success. The pin-ups featured religious themes and characters based on children's fairy tales and stories, including some licensed Disney characters.

- Man with a Bicycle Decorated for a Parade, 1897 - The League of American Wheelmen (LAW) advocated for good roads and fought for the rights of cyclists. One way to promote the organization and its causes was to participate in festivals or parades. This man, his bicycle, and his dog -- sporting a sign reading "I Want Good Roads" -- are decked out for the 1897 La Fiesta de Los Angeles parade.

- Passengers in a Horse-Drawn Carriage Decorated for a Parade in Jackson, Michigan, circa 1895 - Community-sponsored celebrations provide entertainment for area residents. Around the turn of the 20th century, these celebrations sometimes included floral parades. Civic leaders would festoon buggies, coaches, carriages and even horses with flowers and ribbons. This photograph shows local store owner, E. G. Cook, and passengers in a decorated carriage ready to parade down the streets of Jackson, Michigan.
