- Group of Men outside the Ford Exhibition Building, Century of Progress International Exposition, Chicago, Illinois, 1934 - Ford Motor Company was a major exhibitor at Chicago's Century of Progress Exposition in 1934. A large exhibition building, bandshell, and Roads of the World experience composed the fair's largest and most talked-about attraction. Ford hosted this group of men, who numbered among the more than twelve million fairgoers to visit the Ford exhibit.

- Cameo Portrait of Henry Ford in Presentation Case, 1920-1940 - Acknowledging Henry Ford's innovative spirit, individuals employing their own original and imaginative efforts bestowed hundreds of handmade gifts upon him. Like many of the gifts to Henry Ford that found their way to Fair Lane, little is known about the Italian artist who created this. But the exquisite workmanship of this artifact speaks for itself.

- George Washington Carver Holding Fabric Made from Soybean Fiber, Soybean Lab, Greenfield Village, 1939 - A mutual interest in industrial products made from plants brought Henry Ford and the scientist George Washington Carver together as colleagues and friends. Ford developed plastics and fibers from soybeans. Here, on a 1939 visit to Dearborn, George Washington Carver is seated in the Soybean Laboratory in Greenfield Village, holding a piece of fabric made of soybean fiber.

- Helen M. Schultz Brewer, Owner of Red Ball Bus Company, Iowa, circa 1924 - Helen M. Schultz started the Red Ball Transportation Company in 1922 with buses running from Waterloo to Des Moines, Iowa. Schultz met many challenges while establishing her business, including competition from rival bus lines and the railroad, government regulations, and poor highway conditions. She sold Red Ball to the Jefferson Highway Transportation Company in 1930.

Firestone, Jr., son of the founder of the Firestone Tire and Rubber Company, met at a dance at Princeton around 1920. Their 1921 wedding was the most lavish Decatur had ever seen. Elizabeth -- who would become well-known for a refined sense of fashion -- likely made her own wedding dress.

- Souvenir Silk Picture, "Birth of Our Nation's Flag," from Panama-Pacific International Exposition, 1915 - The Panama-Pacific International Exposition celebrated the 1914 completion of the Panama Canal and the 400th anniversary of the discovery of the Pacific Ocean. Nearly nineteen million people visited San Francisco, recently recovered from a devastating 1906 earthquake, during the fair in 1915. Many returned home with mementos of the exhibition, such as this patriotic souvenir.
