- Letter from Arno Cammerer to Edsel Ford regarding Donation to Shenandoah National Park, September 26, 1928 - After becoming friends with philanthropist John D. Rockefeller, Jr., Edsel Ford began to partner with him on numerous charitable efforts, including donating money to establish Great Smoky Mountains National Park. When Rockefeller found another way to completely cover the cost of the park, he suggested Ford transfer his donation over to Shenandoah National Park, to which Ford obliged.

When Richard E. Byrd proposed a flight over the North Pole in 1926, he turned to Edsel Ford for financial support. Not only did Ford provide considerable funding himself, he encouraged John D. Rockefeller, Jr., to contribute as well. Byrd is generally credited with reaching the pole on May 9, 1926, though controversy remains.

John D. Rockefeller, Jr., had planned to stay with Edsel Ford, but when Edsel's son was taken ill, Henry and Clara Ford invited Rockefeller to stay with them. In this letter, Rockefeller thanked the Fords for their "great kindness and delightful hospitality."

On October 21, 1929, Henry Ford hosted an event, Light's Golden Jubilee, which celebrated the 50th anniversary of Thomas Edison's invention of the incandescent lamp. John D. Rockefeller, Jr., had planned to stay with Edsel Ford, but when Edsel's son was taken ill, Henry and Clara Ford invited Rockefeller to stay with them. In this letter, Rockefeller thanked the Fords for their "great kindness and delightful hospitality."
