- Entrance to Robert Hudson Tannahill Library in Lovett Hall, circa 1974 - Greenfield Village and Henry Ford Museum opened the Robert Hudson Tannahill Research Library in 1973. Named for a prominent benefactor and trustee, the library brought together and made available to the public the institution's diverse collection of documents, publications, graphics, and photographs. The library was incorporated into the Benson Ford Research Center in 2002.

Greenfield Village and Henry Ford Museum opened the Robert Hudson Tannahill Research Library in 1973. - Edison Institute Board of Trustees Congratulating Gustav Munchow on 35 Years of Service, 1967 - Gustav Munchow became the gardener at Henry and Clara Ford's Fair Lane estate in Dearborn, Michigan, around 1930, after emigrating from Germany. Soon after, Henry asked him to landscape the gardens of the Cotswold Cottage, an English cottage Ford had recently moved to Greenfield Village. Munchow's work impressed the Fords. Munchow later led the grounds and maintenance departments for the Museum and Greenfield Village.

- Bookplate from Robert Hudson Tannahill Research Library, circa 1973 - Bookplates show ownership, but they can also tell us more. Often pasted on the inside of a book's front cover or endpaper, these printed labels contain the owner's name and sometimes the words "ex-libris" (Latin for "from the library of"). Coats of arms, crests, other decorative images, poems, mottoes, and even font type provide insight into the beliefs, passions, and interests of the book's owner.

Rivera was in Michigan to work on his <i>Detroit Industry</i> murals, commissioned by the Detroit Institute of Arts and completed there in 1933. Tannahill served on the City of Detroit Arts Commission and, over the years, donated many artworks to the DIA.

Artist Diego Rivera (left) was photographed with art collector and patron Robert H. Tannahill in 1932. Rivera was in Michigan to work on his Detroit Industry murals, commissioned by the Detroit Institute of Arts and completed there in 1933. Tannahill served on the City of Detroit Arts Commission and, over the years, donated many artworks to the DIA.
