- Gray's Latest Improved Horse Powers Threshing Machines and Wood Sawing Machines, 1891 - As farmers mechanized barn and farmyard work in the nineteenth century, they began to use stationary power sources. These included devices such as treadmills that converted the movement of animals to drive a variety of agricultural machines. Enterprising manufacturers, like Vermont-based A.W. Gray's Sons, specialized in producing and selling these devices and the machines they were designed to power.

Many car artists have no formal training. They use common tools, such as this die grinder, to transform their vehicles and turn their inspiration into reality.
- Reynolds Brothers Shoe Last, 1870-1900 - Shoemakers in the late 19th and early 20th centuries molded pieces of leather around a wooden foot-like form, known as a last, to create a shoe. Some lasts had a removeable block, which made it easy to extract the wood form from the shoe. Others, like this one, had a hole in the end where a hook could be inserted to pull the last out.

In an era of growing uniformity via factory production, the "made by hand" aspect of these products held an aesthetic appeal for consumers. In 1933, Everlast introduced its first product line, "Forged Giftware" featuring Colonial Revival inspired designs.
