- Ford Family Cottage at Harbor Beach, Michigan, September 1921 - About 1914, Clara and Henry Ford purchased a summer cottage at Harbor Beach, Michigan, located on Lake Huron about 125 miles north of Detroit. The couple sometimes sailed to the cottage aboard their yacht <em>Sialia</em>. Later, their son Edsel stayed at Harbor Beach with his own family. In 1929, Clara and Henry began summering in Michigan's Upper Peninsula instead.
