Henry Ford purchased an abandoned sawmill at Munising, Michigan, in 1944. He began renovations on the mill, but Mr. Ford's failing health prevented him from completing the project. The Munising sawmill was sold, along with other Ford-owned Upper Peninsula properties, after Mr. Ford's death in 1947.
