Can I use my Member Guest Passes?

Yes! Member Guests Passes are accepted and welcomed on-site, no advance reservations are needed.

If I have a Flex membership, can I bring guests?

Yes! Any guests covered by your membership are welcome. If your membership does not include the Flex option, but you would like to bring guests, you can upgrade your membership by calling the Contact Center at 313.982.6001.

What is the ticketing procedure for nonmember guests?

To avoid waiting in lines, and due to limited capacities on some venues, we highly recommend purchasing advance tickets online for Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation, Ford Rouge Factory Tour and Giant Screen Experience.

Daily tickets are redeemable only on the date chosen and printed on the ticket.

Do I have to purchase advance tickets online?

Since capacities are limited, we highly recommend purchasing advance tickets online to Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation. However, purchases can be made on-site pending venue availability.

Can I exchange my daily ticket for another date?

Yes, one change to an alternative date will be permitted due to illness or injury. If you’d like to request an exchange, please reach out to the Contact Center for assistance. You can also redeem your daily ticket toward a membership for a year of free admission. Not valid on special event tickets, including Day Out With Thomas, Salute to America, Halloween and Holiday Nights.

Can I make a group reservation?

Yes! Please contact our Contact Center at 313.982.6001 and press 1, or reach out via email to reservationcenter@thehenryford.org.

Are all on-site exhibitions and experiences open?

For the health and safety of our guests and staff, we have temporarily altered select museum experiences. Please review the maps below prior to your visit.

What should I expect when visiting the Giant Screen Experience?

Giant Screen Experience offers a state-of-the-art 4K digital projection, sound and seating experience with many films in 3D.

What should I expect when visiting the Ford Rouge Factory Tour?

Ford Rouge Factory Tour consists of a five-part tour, which includes a behind-the-scenes tour of the Dearborn Truck Plant, a look at the history of the Ford Rouge Factory through historic video footage, a virtual reality theater experience, a walking tour of the factory’s living roof and more.

Does one ticket include everything?

Separate tickets are required to visit Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation, Greenfield Village, Ford Rouge Factory Tour and Giant Screen Experience. However, combo tickets are available for purchase, allowing you to visit multiple venues at a discounted rate.

Additionally, Giant Screen Experience and Ford Rouge Factory Tour are accessible without admission to Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation.

Are electric scooters, wheelchairs and wagons available to rent?

Yes. Electric scooters, wheelchairs and wagons are available to rent and can be picked up at the front of the museum’s Welcome Center or to the left of Greenfield Village ticketing booths.

Is outside food and drink allowed?

Yes, you are welcome to bring a small amount of food or beverage into The Henry Ford; however, we have many on-site vending snack areas and one-of-a-kind restaurants to suit your needs. Outside alcohol is not allowed, but beer and wine are available for purchase daily and at many events.

Is personal photography allowed at The Henry Ford?

Personal photography policies vary by venue:

• Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation: Permitted with daily admission.
• Greenfield Village: Permitted with daily admission.
• Ford Rouge Factory Tour: Permitted with daily admission in the Legacy Gallery and Observation Deck; strictly prohibited in both theaters and within the Dearborn Truck Plant.
• Giant Screen Experience: Photography and video recording are strictly prohibited.

Selfie sticks are not permitted in all venues.

Is professional photography allowed at The Henry Ford?

Limited professional photography, for personal use only, is allowed for individuals, including senior and engagement photos, during your visit to Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation and/or Greenfield Village with daily admission.

Photography cannot block or disrupt other guests or operations. No professional lighting or umbrellas are allowed.

No professional photography is allowed for groups, including weddings, unless in conjunction with a ceremony or reception booked at The Henry Ford.

Are dogs and other pets allowed at The Henry Ford?

The Henry Ford abides by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and allows service animals — animals trained to perform specific tasks for an individual with a disability — into all public areas. Service animals are required to be under control at all times by their owners by being harnessed, leashed or tethered, unless these devices interfere with the animal’s work or the owner’s disability. In such cases, the owner must maintain control of the animal through voice, signal or other effective controls.

The owner of a service animal may be asked to remove the animal from the premises if the owner does not take effective action to control it or if the animal is not housebroken. If the animal’s behavior warrants its removal from The Henry Ford, the animal’s handler may continue their visit without the animal. Please note that service animals will be in close proximity to animals in Greenfield Village, including horses, sheep and chickens.

The Henry Ford abides by the ADA regarding the admission of service animals based on their ability to perform a specific task. Animals regarded as comfort animals, therapy animals, companion animals or emotional support animals are not service animals as defined by the ADA. Therefore, they are not allowed at The Henry Ford.

What is your policy on smoking?

Effective May 1, 2010, Michigan state law prohibits smoking in areas controlled by a state or local government agency, places of employment, restaurants, bars and hotels. Smoking on The Henry Ford properties is prohibited except in designated areas. Designated areas are signed as such.

• Guests to The Henry Ford may smoke in their vehicles.
• Guests to Greenfield Village and Benson Ford Research Center are permitted to smoke in the area outside Greenfield Village and the Benson Ford Research Center on the sidewalk next to the yellow service gate on Lovett Road.
• Guests inside Greenfield Village are permitted to smoke:
• On the asphalt near the gate between the Edison statue and the Tintype Studio.
• On the sidewalk between the entrance to A Taste of History restaurant and the Stone Mill.
• Guests to Ford Rouge Factory Tour are permitted to smoke outside in front of the building on the plant side of the entrance. This applies to daytime visits and evening events.

Guests who smoke in nonsmoking areas of The Henry Ford will be asked to stop and move to the areas where smoking is permitted. Guests who do not comply will be asked to leave The Henry Ford premises.

How do I donate an artifact?

The collections of The Henry Ford, defined as objects, photographs, books, periodicals, manuscripts, moving images and recordings, are the primary tools and resources for providing authentic, effective historical experiences. Please use this procedure for all potential object donations or purchases for The Henry Ford's collections.

We follow this policy to maintain the integrity of the museum's collections and to ensure the safety of an artifact before being officially accepted into the collections:

• Submit all potential donations or purchases in writing, directed to the Benson Ford Research Center (see contact information below).
• Describe the object, including any model numbers, manufacturers' names and the measurements.
• Write a short statement about the owner’s intention to donate or sell the object.
• Include a photograph or photocopy of the object with the letter.

Once the Benson Ford Research Center receives your written proposal, staff members assign a tracking number and forward the letter to the curator in charge of the appropriate object area. The curator researches the history of the object and determines if the object meets the criteria established by the museum for acceptance into the collections. The criteria include but are not limited to whether the artifact advances the museum's mission statement.

When an object meets the criteria, the curator then recommends a proposed object to the Collections Committee, which is responsible for shaping and developing the museum's collections. The committee then approves or rejects the proposed object. This process often takes many weeks. We appreciate your patience.

Do you do appraisals?

The Henry Ford does not offer appraisal services, but below are organizations that can direct you to a reputable antique dealer in your area. Appraisers often specialize in a particular field. In order to locate a professional in the field in which you are particularly interested, we suggest that you contact one of the following national organizations for specific information.

What is The Henry Ford's Code of Conduct, Rules & Regulations for Guests?

The Henry Ford seeks to provide a world-class history attraction experience in an environment that is safe, clean and comfortable. To accomplish this, we have adopted a Code of Conduct, Rules & Regulations for our guests. Any behavior that is disruptive to the experience of other visitors or is destructive to exhibits, artifacts or the general facilities cannot be tolerated. Persons who violate these rules will be asked to leave the premises and may lose membership and/or admittance privileges. Violations perceived as criminal may result in arrest and prosecution.

What is a membership?

Memberships to The Henry Ford include annual passes for unlimited entry to Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation, Greenfield Village and traditional films at our Giant Screen Experience, plus discounts on tickets to the Ford Rouge Factory Tour and special events. Membership also includes free parking, discounts for dining and shopping and a digital subscription to The Henry Ford Magazine. Because of ever-changing health and safety guidelines and the unique complexities of The Henry Ford’s immersive environments and programs, all policies will be reevaluated on a regular basis and updated as needed.
