THE HENRY FORD HONORS ROSA PARKS ON 100TH BIRTHDAY WITH NATIONAL DAY OF COURAGE
On December 1, 1955, Rosa Parks, a 42-year-old African American woman who worked as a seamstress, inspired a social movement when she refused to give up her seat to a white man on a Montgomery, Ala., city bus. THE HENRY FORD ACQUIRES MAJOR STUDIO GLASS COLLECTION
The Henry Ford is proud to announce the acquisition of the Bruce and Ann Bachmann Studio Glass Collection, a collection numbering approximately 300 pieces. The collection is an encyclopedic history of the Studio Glass Movement with representation from many very important artists. This donation secures the institution’s American glass collection within the top three in the U.S.
