Savor the crisp fall atmosphere with historical fall foodways demonstrations, live music, crafts, specialty vignettes, food trucks, operations in our Cider Mill and more. Plus, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., stop into Detroit Central Market Weekends to mingle with vendors and shop local fall fare. While supplies last, guests are encouraged to participate in a corn husk doll make-and-take craft, located in Detroit Central Market.

Throughout the weekend, enjoy various foodways demonstrations at Ford Home, Edison Homestead, Daggett Farmhouse, Giddings Family Home, Mattox Family Home and William Holmes McGuffey Birthplace. View historic recipes here.

Apple Butter Demonstration | 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m.

Step back in time in the yard of Firestone Farm as guest food historian Jamie Burton demonstrates the process of making homemade apple butter as the Firestone family would have in the 19th century.

1810s Reenactment Group | 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m.

In this outdoor immersive program located in William Holmes McGuffey Schoolyard, guests will be able to experience fall foodways and textile demonstrations with our 1810s reenactors.

Firestone Orchard Tour and Apple Tasting | Various times*

From ciders to jams and jellies, apples were an important staple on the farm. At Firestone Orchard, stroll through the juicy, sweet Baldwin, Belmont, Rambo and Maiden's Blush apples on a guided tour. You may even get to taste some of the delicious apples!

Live Music with JJ Przewozniak | 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m.

Enjoy live music in the yard of Ford Home as JJ Przewozniak delights guests with the fiddle.

Corn Husk Braiding Craft Demonstration | 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

Watch this intricate fall craft when you visit Ford Home.

Cider Pressing | 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

At Firestone Farm, experience the process of manually pressing apples into cider, like the Firestone family would have done.

Cider Mill Process | 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

In the historic Cider Mill, watch the mechanized process of apple pressing utilizing this quicker and more efficient method.

Sauerkraut-Making Demonstration | 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

In the cellar of Firestone Farm, experience firsthand the details of sauerkraut-making as you watch live demonstrations.

Live Music with Ranka Mulkern | 1-5 p.m.

On Eagle Tavern porch, Ranka Mulkern will play the dulcimer for guests.

Live Music with Neil Woodward | 1-5 p.m.

Experience live Folk music from Neil Woodward at Logan County Courthouse.

Victorian Hair Art Demonstration | 1:30-2:30 p.m.

Stop by the Grimm Jewelry store to see how Victorian hair art was made and learn how it became a cottage industry.

Fall Paper Craft Demonstration | 2-5 p.m.

When visiting Edison Homestead, watch a historic fall paper craft demonstration.
