(Dearborn, Mich. — April 2, 2026) —The Henry Ford presents All Aboard Adventure, a brand-new family event focusing on trains, cars and hands-on discovery for all ages—taking place Saturday, May 16, and Sunday, May 17 in Greenfield Village
Visitors can experience the power and possibility of Greenfield Village in motion for one special weekend. This event focuses on the core railroad appeal through expanded railroad activations, including two-train service at Smiths Creek Depot, a hand-car ride carrying passengers from the Water Tower to Firestone Farm, a steam-powered crane demonstration, hands-on turntable activity, and more. Explore a lineup of working emergency and construction vehicles at Detroit Central Market to discover how everyday machines operate.
Guests will also have the rare opportunity to push a discovery railcar, help maneuver the historic turntable outside the Detroit, Toledo & Milwaukee Roundhouse, take a seat in the cab of the 1897 D&LN #7 locomotive and watch a working crane in motion. With special behind-the-scenes access, railroading is brought vividly to life in ways rarely seen.
Across the Village green, lawn games and open-air amusements take center stage with parachute and carnival games, sack races, a straw-bale maze, maypole demonstrations, and more.
This special event is free for members and included with Village admission. Train rides are free for all guests during the event and can be enjoyed as many times as the queue allows. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information, visit thf.org.
