Prototype Side Chair
- Barware Set Prototype, 2003 - Starting in the early 1980s--and already established as an internationally recognized architect--Michael Graves began to pursue a parallel career as a product designer. Over the following three and a half decades he and his collaborators designed everything from humble household goods to limited edition luxury items for clients as diverse as Steuben, Alessi, Target, J. C. Penney, and Disney.

- Face Shield Prototype, 2020 - Like other American automakers, Ford Motor Company devoted employees and facilities to producing specialized equipment to fight the COVID-19 pandemic. This is a prototype face shield, to reduce the risk of virus exposure through respiratory droplets. Unlike face masks, which impeded the spread of droplets from the wearer, face shields protected against the spread of droplets to the wearer.

Like other American automakers, Ford Motor Company devoted employees and facilities to producing specialized equipment to fight the COVID-19 pandemic. - 1913 Scripps-Booth Rocket Cyclecar Prototype - In 1912, a new European fad took America by storm: the cyclecar -- slim, light, cheap, with a motorcycle engine. By 1914, Americans could choose from over 80 home-grown versions. Most were poorly built and rattled to pieces on America's rough, unpaved roads. And by 1917, a durable five-passenger Ford Model T cost $25 less than this Scripps-Booth. The cyclecar fad was over.

1913 Scripps-Booth Rocket Cyclecar Prototype
In 1912, a new European fad took America by storm: the cyclecar -- slim, light, cheap, with a motorcycle engine. By 1914, Americans could choose from over 80 home-grown versions. Most were poorly built and rattled to pieces on America's rough, unpaved roads. And by 1917, a durable five-passenger Ford Model T cost $25 less than this Scripps-Booth. The cyclecar fad was over.
- Protoype Racing Tire, circa 1960 - Bobby Unser made his reputation in the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. The course had a dirt surface when Unser raced it, so he searched for ways to improve tire traction. Unser tried grinding up various substances and mixing the results into rubber to produce a tire with more grip. The most effective material turned out to be ground walnut shells.

In 1968, the album <em>Switched-On Bach</em> introduced the Moog synthesizer to a wider audience. Synthesizers quickly became a mainstay of popular music.
