- Medal Presented to Henry Ford by the Students of the Henry Ford Trade School, 1941 - Henry Ford was not only recognized as an automotive industrialist; during his many years in the public eye he was recognized by many civic and corporate associations. The Henry Ford Trade School, founded in 1916, in the words inscribed on the medal, "provided training and privileges [for] thousands of boys who, otherwise, would have been denied such educational facilities."

Henry Ford was not only recognized as an automotive industrialist; during his many years in the public eye he was recognized by many civic and corporate associations. - Henry Ford aboard the Ford Motor Company Freighter "Henry Ford II," Superior, Wisconsin, 1939 - In the 1920s, Henry Ford amassed a fleet of cargo carriers, ocean-going ships, barges, tugboats and canal boats to transport raw materials and finished product to and from his new River Rouge manufacturing complex. This photograph shows him aboard <em>Henry Ford II</em>. The Ford Motor Company ore freighter, also used for family cruises, was named after Ford's oldest grandson.

- Henry Ford II with Henry Ford at the Ford Rouge Plant Administration Building, April 1944 - Henry Ford II (left) was photographed with his grandfather, Henry Ford, in the Administration Building at Ford Motor Company's Rouge plant on April 10, 1944. That day, the company's board of directors elected the younger Ford as executive vice president. Seventeen months later, the board elected Henry Ford II as Ford Motor Company's president following his grandfather's resignation.

Henry Ford II (left) was photographed with his grandfather, Henry Ford, in the Administration Building at Ford Motor Company's Rouge plant on April 10, 1944. That day, the company's board of directors elected the younger Ford as executive vice president. Seventeen months later, the board elected Henry Ford II as Ford Motor Company's president following his grandfather's resignation.

In the early 1910s, Ford sought out the internationally known naturalist and writer. The two bonded over their love of birds and nature and became friends.
