- Lunchbox & Thermos, Tom Corbett: Space Cadet, 1954 - The first pictorial lunchboxes, introduced in 1950, featured Hopalong Cassidy. Since then, generations of children have proudly sported pictorial images of their favorite television shows on the sides of their school lunchboxes. Tom Corbett was a character from the <em>Tom Corbett: Space Cadet</em> book series, who was depicted in radio, television, and comics in the 1950s.

Ive's design challenged the notion that computers had to be encased in opaque beige boxes.
