Driver Joe Dawson won the 1912 race in a car built by the National Motor Vehicle Company of Indianapolis. The next year, National issued this sales brochure boasting about the victory. Dawson's win, wrote the company, proved its cars' "real quality and stamina" in a demanding 500-mile test.
