- Facsimile Telegraph Receiver, 1930-1940 - This facsimile receiver was used to print out incoming telegraph messages. Edward Kleinschmidt, its inventor, developed and refined telegraphy, stock market perforators, and railway signaling technology. His improvements upon teleprinters are especially notable, leading to the establishment of the Teletype Corporation in 1930. His portable teleprinter--capable of printing 100-words-per-minute--was adopted by the US Signal Corps in 1949.
