- Springfield Model 1795, Type II, Flintlock Musket, 1809 - The Springfield Armory was the first Federal armory in America, dating to 1777. Together with the Harpers Ferry Armory, Springfield produced officially sanctioned firearms for Federal troops. The Springfield 1795 musket was the first standardized firearm made for the U.S. government. The 1795 model was produced until 1814.
