- Al Unser, Sr., 1957-1972 - Al Unser, Sr., earned 39 wins in national championship races and three national titles. He earned two overall victories at Pikes Peak and an IROC championship. - Driver Chris Amon at the Indianapolis 500 Race, May 1967 - Chris Amon drove in Formula One races from 1963 to 1976, making 96 starts and earning 11 podium finishes. In 1966 he partnered with fellow New Zealander Bruce McLaren to win the 24 Hours of Le Mans in a Ford GT40. Though Amon never won an F1 Grand Prix race, he was widely considered one of the sport's best drivers.

- Jim Hall in Lister Corvette at the First Los Angeles Examiner Grand Prix, March 1959 - Jim Hall grew up around cars, moving quickly from soap box derbies to full-size hot rods. He studied mechanical engineering in college and began racing in the 1950s. Hall teamed with Hap Sharp in 1962 to form Chaparral Cars, where he applied his knowledge of physics to innovative race car designs that took advantage of aerodynamic downforce.
