- Lincoln Continental Coupe, September 1940 - Inspired after a 1938 trip to Europe, Edsel Ford collaborated with designer E.T. "Bob" Gregorie on a custom car with a sophisticated "continental" look. Reaction to Mr. Ford's prototype was so positive that Lincoln put the car into regular production. The first-generation Lincoln Continental remained in production from 1940 through 1948.

Museum planners envisioned a revitalized village. They created themed "Historic Districts" by relocating and refurbishing the historic structures. Workers repaved streets and upgraded water, sewer, electric, and gas lines. In June 2003, nine months after restoration began, visitors passed through a new entrance into a reborn Greenfield Village.

- Halloween in Greenfield Village, October 2007 - Visitors have celebrated Hallowe'en in Greenfield Village since 1981.
