- Lost Streets, Warren Place, 1890-1915 - In 1890, Jenny Young Chandler, 25 years old and recently widowed, began working for the <em>New York Herald</em>. As a photojournalist and feature writer, Chandler captured life in Brooklyn, New York, and vicinity. By 1922, the time of her death, she had produced over 800 glass plate negatives. Her sensitive, insightful photographs depict people from all walks of life and the world in which they lived.

In 1890, Jenny Young Chandler, 25 years old and recently widowed, began working for the New York Herald. - Apartment Buildings at the Ford Foundation, Dearborn, Michigan, 1940 - Edsel Ford and Henry Ford established the Ford Foundation in 1936 to distribute charitable funds to benefit the public welfare. Early foundation projects included Springwells Park, a housing subdivision in Dearborn, Michigan, begun in in 1939. The development included single-family houses, duplexes, townhouses, apartments, and a shopping center -- all designed in the Colonial Revival style.

- Mack Fire Trucks at the Scene of an Apartment Fire in New York City, February 1927 - Founded in Brooklyn, New York, in 1900, Mack Brothers Company relocated to Allentown, Pennsylvania, five years later. The company renamed itself Mack Trucks and chose a bulldog as its mascot in 1922. Mack built its first firefighting equipment around 1911. Mack itself stopped building complete fire trucks in 1990, but Mack's chassis continued to be used by other builders.

- Houghton Studio Catalog, "Houghtons...Design & Manufacture of Decoration, Furniture, Etc.," 1925-1928 - London-based interior designer Sidney Houghton was commissioned by Henry Ford for several projects. This catalog contains samples of Houghton's work. It features designs for the <em>Sialia</em> yacht, the <em>Fair Lane</em> private railcar, Wayside Inn, and Henry Ford's and Edsel Ford's offices in the Ford Engineering Laboratory. Houghton also worked on the Dearborn Country Club and Henry Ford's Fair Lane estate.

Those four years were of great significance for the family. Henry formed Ford Motor Company in June 1903. After two failed starts in the automobile business, he found success and would soon go on to greater achievements.

Henry formed Ford Motor Company in June 1903. After two failed starts in the automobile business, he found success and would soon go on to greater achievements.

Henry was now president of Ford Motor Company. His firm's growing success ensured that when the Fords moved again, it would be into a house they built and owned themselves.

Photographed circa 1915 - Henry and Clara Ford lived in an apartment in this building on Detroit's Washington Boulevard from early 1892 until sometime that October. It was the fourth home the couple shared since marrying in 1888. The building later became a hotel, and it was torn down not long after this photo was taken around 1915.
