- 1965 Ford Galaxie Driven by Wendell Scott in the Daytona 500, February 1966 - Wendell Scott broke NASCAR's color barrier, becoming the first African American driver to win a Cup-level race, with his victory in a 100-mile event at Jacksonville's Speedway Park in 1963. He made 495 starts and earned 147 top-ten finishes in his 13-year Cup Series career. Scott was inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame in 2015.

- Ford GT40 and Ferrari 330 P at the Daytona Continental 2000 km Race, February 1965 - Bob Bondurant and Richie Ginther took third place overall -- and second in the prototype class -- in their #72 Ford GT40 at the 1965 Daytona Continental 2000-Kilometer Race. Ford created the GT40 to win France's celebrated 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race. The GT40 did just that in 1966 -- and again in 1967, 1968 and 1969.

Leftover confetti fragments of the punched paper are called "chads." If ballots are not fully punched, partially attached "hanging chads" invalidate the vote. During the 2000 Presidential election, this infamous system caused confusion among voters in Palm Beach County, Florida, forcing a recount of spoiled ballots.
