- Ford Motor Company Engineer E.J. Farkas, circa 1940 - Eugene Farkas was born in Hungary and immigrated to the United States in 1906. Farkas, a trained engineer, joined Ford Motor Company briefly in 1907-1908, and then returned as head of Ford's experimental drafting room in 1913. Farkas worked on tractors, experimental engines, the Model A chassis, and B-24 bombers in a long career that ended with his retirement in 1947.

- Robert Fuller and Albert Taylor Discuss the Machine Tool Layout for Ford's Cleveland Engine Plant - Ford Motor Company built its Cleveland Engine Plant 1 at Brook Park, Ohio, in suburban Cleveland, in 1951. A second factory, Cleveland Engine Plant 2, opened there four years later. The site was well suited to manufacturing, with direct access to railroads and near Cleveland's busy port on Lake Erie. Engine Plant 2 closed in 2012.

In this issue, designer Bill Stumpf and his team examined how Julia Child -- a chef well-versed in the functions of a kitchen -- designed her own kitchen. Numerous sketches and photographs, as well as hours of interviews with Paul and Julia Child, informed the issue.
