- Man Using a 1935-1938 John Deere Model "B" Series Tractor - Deere & Company released the Model B tractor in 1935. The tractor's tricycle chassis and easy steering made the machine suitable for row-crop cultivation while its seat height gave farmers a clear view between rows of corn and soybeans. The adjustable wheel width accommodated mounted two-row corn pickers. Deere produced about 57,000 Model Bs through 1938 before introducing the "styled" Model B.

- 1952 Ford Model 8N Tractor - The Ford Motor Company, after Henry Ford's death, released its most popular tractor in 1948. The 8N broke with Ford tradition by sporting new paint colors. Farmers bought the affordable tractor because it retained Ferguson's revolutionary 3-point hitch system and included a "crawler" gear and PTO (power-take-off) that transferred engine power to new equipment like forage choppers.

- Man Using a 1939-1946 John Deere Model "B" Series Tractor - Deere & Company released the streamlined Model B, styled by industrial designer, Henry Dreyfuss, in late 1938. Farmers used the four-gear forward tractor to pull a two-bottom plow, cultivate corn or soybeans, power a mounted corn picker, or run a corn sheller off the belt-drive. The rounded hood and grill and more expensive rubber-tire option meant the tractor looked as good as it performed.

- Advertisement for Ford-Ferguson Tractors, 1944 - Henry Ford rarely missed an opportunity to promote his idea of farmers growing crops for industry. In this ad for a tractor, much of the copy talks about producing crops for industry. The case for the tractor is made obliquely through references to lowering the cost of production, but it is never actually mentioned in the text.

- Allis-Chalmers Model 10-18 Tractor, 1914 - Allis-Chalmers introduced its first farm tractor, the Model 10-18, in 1914. The tractor's single-tire front end gave it a tighter turning radius and made it easy to maneuver. It also had power -- 10 horse power at the draw-bar and 18 horse power from the belt pulley. But its price tag put the machine out of the reach of most farmers.
