- M8 Armored Car Built at the Ford Motor Company Twin Cities Assembly Plant, March 1945 - Like other American automakers, Ford Motor Company manufactured vehicles and materiel for the Allies during World War II. Ford's M8 armored car served as a scouting vehicle. It carried a 37 mm M6 gun and a 7.62 mm machine gun, both mounted on a revolving turret. Ford built more than 8,000 M8 armored cars from 1943 to 1945.
