The young woman wears a special dress for the occasion, often white or pale pink in color, and carries a bouquet of roses. Maritza Garza of Detroit chose this formal dress of satin and lace for her Quinceanara in 1992.

Level 1 isolation gowns protected wearers from contaminants in minimal-risk situations. This gown is made from the same fabric used in automobile airbags. Ford set a goal to produce 1.3 million gowns -- each one washable up to 50 times.

Firestone, Jr., cultivated a refined sense of fashion through years of interest in clothing design and collaboration with world-renowned couturiers. This dress may have been created by Bob Bugnand. Firestone began purchasing clothing from this French designer in the 1950s, and would continue to do so into the 1970s.
