- Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe Driven by Bob Johnson and Tom Payne at the Daytona Continental 2000 km Race, February 1965 - Carroll Shelby's Shelby American team built six Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupes. Based on Shelby's Cobra roadster, the closed-cockpit Daytona Coupe battled Ferrari's 250 GTO in the 1964 and 1965 racing seasons. Shelby American entered four Daytona Coupes in the 1965 Daytona Continental 2000-Kilometer Race. The #13 car placed second, #14 finished fourth, and #11 placed sixth, but #12 did not finish.
