- Thomas Edison at Menlo Park Laboratory in Greenfield Village during Light's Golden Jubilee, October 1929 - To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the incandescent electric lamp, Henry Ford hosted the Light's Golden Jubilee in Dearborn, Michigan. Ford chose the occasion to dedicate Greenfield Village to his friend, Thomas Edison. During the festivities, Edison re-enacted the first successful testing of the light bulb (1879) in Greenfield Village's detailed reproduction of his laboratory in Menlo Park, New Jersey.
