Catherine Prindle's Sewing Workbook, Armour Institute, 1901
- Luther Burbank Notebook, "Lily Seeds &c., Planted Oct. 1891" - Luther Burbank (1849-1926), an American plant breeder, naturalist, and author, was especially noted for his experiments with plants, fruits, and vegetables. After developing the influential Russet Burbank potato in his native Massachusetts, Burbank established a large experimental garden in Santa Rosa, California. When not working outdoors, Burbank spent time carrying on his nursery business, keeping accounts, researching, and writing.

Henry Ford's Jot Book, 1902-1935
Henry Ford always carried a small notebook to jot down important pieces of information or simple reminders of things to remember. The over 50 small jot books give a sense of a busy man trying to capture information on the fly. The contents vary from questions to ask Thomas Edison to names and addresses to grocery lists.
- Notebook from the Laboratory of T.A. Edison Menlo Park, New Jersey, 1929 - To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the incandescent electric lamp, Henry Ford hosted the Light's Golden Jubilee event in Dearborn, Michigan. During the festivities, Thomas Edison and former assistant Francis Jehl re-enacted the 1879 test of Edison's first successful light bulb in Greenfield Village's detailed reproduction of his Menlo Park Laboratory. Jehl provided the elderly inventor with handwritten notes to help guide Edison through the re-enactment.

He expected his employees to follow the same instructions and procedures to ensure consistency. The recipes within this notebook, which belonged to one of his factory managers, illustrate the painstaking care that H.J. Heinz dedicated to this effort.
