- Dam and Powerhouse at Fair Lane, Home of Henry Ford, 1913-1914 - Fair Lane, Henry and Clara Ford's estate on the Rouge River in Dearborn, Michigan, included its own hydroelectric power plant. The four-story powerhouse, built of the same limestone as the mansion, contained two turbines driven by water diverted from a dam on the river. The turbines turned generators that produced 110 kilowatts of electricity.

- Caretaker's House at "The Mangoes," Winter Estate of Henry Ford in Fort Myers, Florida, January 1945 - In 1916, Henry and Clara Ford purchased "The Mangoes," a winter home in Fort Myers, Florida, located next to the wintertime retreat of Thomas and Mina Edison. This image shows the caretaker's house on the grounds. The Fords rarely visited "The Mangoes" after Mr. Edison's death in 1931, and they sold the estate in 1945.

In 1916, Henry and Clara Ford purchased "The Mangoes," a winter home in Fort Myers, Florida, located next to the wintertime retreat of Thomas and Mina Edison. He dedicated the restoration to the memory of his beloved mother, Mary Litogot Ford, who died in 1876. In 1944, the house and outbuildings were moved to Greenfield Village.

They would call the estate Fair Lane. In 1916 the couple moved into the newly constructed, 56-room mansion. Henry and Clara would find their new home a peaceful respite -- surrounded by woods, meadows, gardens, and the nature they loved.

- Outbuilding at Cherry Hill Plantation, circa 1940 - Henry Ford purchased vast amounts of land around present-day Richmond Hill, Georgia, beginning in the 1920s. In 1925, Henry Ford purchased the Cherry Hill plantation. Henry and Clara stayed in the plantation house before the completion of their nearby winter residence. Ford renovated the adjacent service building putting in an office and living spaces for his personal secretary and the chauffeurs.
