- Firestone Farmhouse and Barn during Construction in Greenfield Village, December 1984 - In 1983, Greenfield Village acquired the Firestone family's 19th-century farmhouse and barn in eastern Ohio. After careful documentation and disassembly, workers shipped the structures' original components to Dearborn, Michigan. There, craftsmen re-erected the farmhouse and barn, making repairs and replicating replacements as needed. They completed both buildings just ahead of a formal dedication ceremony held on June 29, 1985.

In 1983, Greenfield Village acquired the Firestone family's 19th-century farmhouse and barn in eastern Ohio. After careful documentation and disassembly, workers shipped the structures' original components to Dearborn, Michigan. There, craftsmen re-erected the farmhouse and barn, making repairs and replicating replacements as needed. They completed both buildings just ahead of a formal dedication ceremony held on June 29, 1985.

Ford collected many Lincoln-related artifacts, including the Logan County, Illinois, courthouse in which Lincoln had practiced law in the 1840s. Despite perturbed townspeople, Ford workers quickly dismantled, moved, and re-erected the building for the opening of Greenfield Village on October 21, 1929.

- Wright Home--Reconstruction--Item4 - Henry Ford relocated the Wright brothers' home and cycle shop from Dayton, Ohio, to Greenfield Village. While the buildings sat a few blocks apart in Dayton, Ford placed them side-by-side at his Dearborn, Michigan, museum complex. Orville Wright and Charlie Taylor, the mechanic who built the engine for the 1903 Wright Flyer, assisted to ensure the project's accuracy.

- Reconstruction of Suwanee Steamboat Hull in Gibraltar, Michigan after Flood Damage, 1970 - After floodwaters swamped the <em>Suwanee</em>, the steamboat's hull was reconstructed to mend the damage. Moving the sternwheeler from the repair shop in Gibraltar, Michigan, back to Greenfield Village, some 20 miles away, was no easy task. The boat's smokestacks, pilot house and upper deck railing were removed, but crews still took special care when passing under bridges with tight clearances.
