- Ford Motor Company Report on Contract Air Mail Service Flights during November 1926 - After operating air mail flights itself for eight years, the U.S. Post Office Department contracted with commercial air carriers in 1926. The first two contract routes, connecting Detroit with Cleveland and Chicago, were awarded to Ford Air Transport, Ford Motor Company's airline subsidiary. Ford planes carried more than 32,000 pounds of mail before the contract ended in July 1928.

- Unisys Corporation Annual Report, 1994 - In 1986, the Burroughs and Sperry corporations merged to create Unisys. It was one of the largest mergers in the computer and information technology industry. Both companies had a long lineage of developing cutting-edge computing technology. Burroughs started in the late 1800s producing calculating machines, and Sperry formed in the early 1900s making navigation equipment and later built UNIVAC computers.

In 1986, the Burroughs and Sperry corporations merged to create Unisys. It was one of the largest mergers in the computer and information technology industry. Both companies had a long lineage of developing cutting-edge computing technology. Burroughs started in the late 1800s producing calculating machines, and Sperry formed in the early 1900s making navigation equipment and later built UNIVAC computers.
- Report of Marine Casualty or Accident for Sunken Ford Freighter "East Indian," February 15, 1943 - The United States government requisitioned the Ford Motor Company's ocean-going freighter <em>East Indian</em> for wartime service. Newly fitted with anti-submarine and anti-aircraft guns, the freighter left for the Indian Ocean in May 1942. As the <em>East Indian</em> returned to America, the ship was sunk by a German U-boat. Four lifeboats with survivors were lost, but crew members on a fifth were rescued after being adrift nearly two weeks.

Newly fitted with anti-submarine and anti-aircraft guns, the freighter left for the Indian Ocean in May 1942. As the East Indian returned to America, the ship was sunk by a German U-boat. Four lifeboats with survivors were lost, but crew members on a fifth were rescued after being adrift nearly two weeks.
- Pontiac State Hospital Dynamo Room, Pontiac, Michigan, 1898 - In 1898, a modern electric light and power plant was completed at the Eastern Michigan Asylum in Pontiac. Inside, dynamos, motors, machines, and a range of switches and meters helped power the institution's growing infrastructure. This photograph shows the interior of the dynamo room. Hospital administrators funded a new power plant in 1929.

Over the years, the company--later known as the Burroughs Corporation--innovated and expanded. Mergers with companies such as Moon-Hopkins and Sperry in the 20th century helped Burroughs become a leader in the calculating--and later computing--industry.

- Manager Report Recommending the Cancellation of Tom Davis Sales Contract, Jasper, Georgia, July 10, 1919 - Though it operated some direct-sales offices in major cities, Ford Motor Company sold most of its Model T cars through franchise agreements with independent dealers. Each franchisee received the right to sell Ford cars within a specific territory. Ford encouraged dealers by offering discounts and rebates to high sellers. But low-selling dealers risked losing their territories.
