"The Standard: A Collection of Sacred and Secular Music," 1872
- Long Island Historical Museum, Old Music, 1890-1915 - In 1890, Jenny Young Chandler, 25 years old and recently widowed, began working for the <em>New York Herald</em>. As a photojournalist and feature writer, Chandler captured life in Brooklyn, New York, and vicinity. She also documented collections of private individuals and museums -- some of which were featured in magazine articles for collectors. By 1922, the time of her death, she had produced over 800 glass plate negatives.

- "Six Military and Patriotic Illustrated Songs Elaborately Colored," circa 1863 - During the Civil War, Charles Magnus, a New York City printer and publisher, sold patriotic envelopes, song sheets and songbooks. This songbook with "elaborately colored" images contains new lyrics to six popular military and patriotic songs. This illustrated works include "The Captain With His Whiskers," "Want--A Substitute," and "Dixie's Land," (with new verses based on the well-known "Dixie").

This songbook with "elaborately colored" images contains new lyrics to six popular military and patriotic songs. The company's annual release of an increasing array of ornaments appealed to customers' interest in marking memories and milestones as well as expressing one's personality and unique tastes. In 1974, Hallmark began producing ornaments featuring Raggedy Ann and Andy--the mop-headed characters based on stories by Johnny Gruelle.

- "Walter L. Main's Circus-Shows Songster," circa 1900 - Many late 19th and early 20th century circuses scheduled additional entertainment after the main show ended. This after-show concert usually had singing, dancing, musical acts or a Wild West exhibition. The concert provided extra revenue for the show's management. Concertgoers had to buy an additional ticket and for a nominal price they could buy a "Songster" filled with texts and lyrics from the performance.
