- Electric Table Lamp, 1960-1970 - Made by the Cooper Lamp Company of Chicago, known for producing high-end lamps for discriminating customers, this lamp is a good example of upper middle-class living room lamps of the 1960s. The swirl design in metal on the ceramic base echoes patterns found in contemporary sculpture, but the imitation grass-cloth plastic shade betrays its intention for the middle-class market.

- Table Lamp, circa 1975 - This lamp embodies the essence of 1970s middle-class taste. Its bright burnt umber base stands out -- probably competing with other boldly colored living room furnishings. The pierced and textured surface of the base lights up -- literally. Even the simple cylindrical shade with its multi-textured band and surface attracts attention -- adding more to a room filled with "more."
