- Mark Donohue at the Mission Bell 200 Trans Am Race, Riverside, California, October 1970 - Mark Donohue first raced sports cars while attending Brown University, where he earned an engineering degree. Donohue signed on to Roger Penske's new team in 1966, and he earned victories at the 24 Hours of Daytona (1969) and the Indianapolis 500 (1972). Donohue joined Penske's Formula One effort in 1974. He died following a crash during F1 practice in Austria in 1975.
