- Dave MacDonald and Marilyn Fox Pose with Shelby King Cobra CM/1/63, 1963 - Carroll Shelby's Shelby American racing team built the first of six King Cobra race cars in the summer of 1963. The King Cobras featured Cooper Monaco bodies and mid-mounted Ford V-8 engines. Their light weight and high horsepower was a winning combination. King Cobras earned road racing championships in 1963, 1964 and 1965.

The full-size plywood buck allowed the team to evaluate the car's overall shape and size before building a functional prototype.

- Automotive Designer Pete Brock with Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe, circa 1964 - Pete Brock worked with Carroll Shelby at Shelby American from 1961 through 1965. Brock ran Shelby's high-performance driving school, and he created logos, merchandise and advertisements for the Shelby American team. He also designed the body for the striking Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe race car, which won Shelby American a 1965 World Manufacturer's Championship in the GT class.

Pete Brock worked with Carroll Shelby at Shelby American from 1961 through 1965. Brock ran Shelby's high-performance driving school, and he created logos, merchandise and advertisements for the Shelby American team. He also designed the body for the striking Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe race car, which won Shelby American a 1965 World Manufacturer's Championship in the GT class.
