Experience the power and possibility of Greenfield Village in motion for one special weekend. Historic locomotives lead the way in this hands-on, village-wide celebration where steam, big machines and classic play take center stage for children of all ages.

From the first sound of the whistle, unlimited steam and diesel train rides wind through the Village on music-filled journeys designed to spark imagination. Step even closer to the action by pushing a discovery railcar, helping maneuver the historic turntable outside the Detroit, Toledo & Milwaukee Roundhouse, sitting in the cab of the 1897 D&LN #7 locomotive and watching a working crane in motion. With special behind-the-scenes access, railroading is brought vividly to life in ways rarely seen.

Climb aboard, honk the horns and explore a lineup of working emergency and construction vehicles at Detroit Central Market, discovering how these everyday machines and the heroes who operate them serve our communities.

Across the village green, lawn games and open-air amusements take center stage with carnival games, parachute and bubble activities, a strawbale maze, maypole demonstrations and more. Story times, live musical performances and a roaming magician add to the festive fun. These timeless outdoor activities, spanning from the early 1900s to today, continue to spark curiosity and joy.

All Aboard Adventure is free for members or included with standard Greenfield Village admission.

The pricing information below reflects the online discount price of admission. There is an additional charge per ticket for purchases made on-site.

General Admission

*10% discount available for seniors (62+); 25% off for youth (5-11); free for children 4 and under.

Train rides are FREE for all guests during the event and can be enjoyed as many times as the queue allows. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. To ensure all guests in line have the opportunity to ride, entry to the queue may close as early as 3:30 p.m.

Parking is $10 per vehicle for nonmembers and free for members.

Trains depart every 15-30 minutes depending on the time of day. The first train ride will depart at 9:45 a.m. and the last train will depart at 4:45 p.m. from Smiths Creek Depot for a trip around Greenfield Village.

Please note that guests are seated on a first-come, first-served basis, and queues are expected. To ensure all guests in line have the opportunity to ride, entry to the queue may close as early as 3:30 p.m.

All Aboard Adventure is held rain or shine and will be canceled only in the case of severe or dangerous weather; no refunds or exchanges will be given due to inclement weather. Dangerous conditions are determined by The Henry Ford in cooperation with local emergency services.

Please note that certain program elements may be suspended during the event in the case of lightning or other severe weather conditions.
