The Woman's Building at Chicago's 1893 World's Columbian Exposition recognized the contributions of women to society. The women's delegation from Montana offered a ceremonial gold nail to signify the building's completion. Jewelers fashioned a brooch with the nail and presented it to Bertha Palmer, President of the Exposition's Women's Department.
