Ford Motor Company operated sales and service branches, as well as factories, in cities around the world. This photograph shows the company's plant in Cologne, Germany. The cornerstone was laid by Henry Ford himself, who visited the site during a European tour in 1930. When the factory opened the following year, it employed some 2,000 people.
