Members of Philadelphia (Pennsylvania) Commandery Number 2 of the Knights Templar issued this badge for its members during the United States centennial celebration in 1876. The Christian-oriented fraternal organization, which regarded itself as spiritually descended from the original medieval Knights Templar, provided mutual aid and support to it members.
