Ford Flour Sack, 1920-1940
01
Artifact Overview
Henry Ford owned some 3,000 acres of farmland near Dearborn and built a flour mill to process his wheat. The flour was sold at low cost through Ford Motor Company employee commissaries, and to bakeries serving Ford facilities. Ford Flour never made a significant profit, and Ford Motor Company razed the mill complex in 1957, after Henry Ford's death.
