1967 Indianapolis 500 -- Item 1861

Dave Friedman captured and preserved auto racing history. His photography -- and his collection of works by other photographers -- documents key races, cars, drivers, and teams. This photo, taken at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in May 1967, shows an envelope from Dan Gurney's All American Racers addressed to A.J. Foyt. Shortly after the Indianapolis 500, Gurney and Foyt co-drove to victory at Le Mans.
