Artifact Overview
Railway passengers relied on entrepreneurial news agents and stationers to provide magazines, newspapers, cigars, candy, and other amenities to make traveling more enjoyable. John Cross probably offered a variety of stereographs showing Boston landmarks -- including this one of Faneuil Hall -- to travelers on southeastern Massachusetts' Old Colony railroad.
