Charles Brady King (right) built and drove the first automobile in Detroit in March 1896, three months before Henry Ford finished his Quadricycle. Many years later, King gifted a collection of model steam engines to Ford's museum. King was photographed with Hayward Ablewhite, the museum's director of interpretation, at the time of the donation.
